You may or may not have heard that the Cirrus Labs team behind Tart is shutting down Cirrus CI and abandoning Tart itself. They indicate Tart will be relicensed under a more permissive license as part of that transition, but from our experience that’s never been the main concern for enterprises and teams who need reliable macOS virtualization. For example, there are many free open source projects offering macOS virtualization solutions which don’t get much of any usage.
For many teams currently using Tart, Cirrus CI, and their various components, there is now an obviously critical question: what is the fully supported path forward for macOS virtualization and CI workflows on Apple Silicon in our organization?
At Veertu, we want Tart users to know there is a clear option. Veertu’s Anka product provides a fully supported platform for teams that need reliable macOS virtualization, enterprise support, and a product roadmap they can build on with confidence. We’ve been successfully serving some of the largest companies in the world for over 9 years at this point and have no plans on going anywhere.
If you are evaluating your next step after Tart, we can help you migrate with minimal disruption. Whether you are running local developer workflows, CI environments, or larger-scale macOS infrastructure, the Veertu Anka product provides a supported path with the stability, security, and operational backing that production teams need.
